An exciting time as we reach the first major milestone for the Ravi Shankar Opera Project! I am currently completing the scores and parts for our first ensemble rehearsal this coming Saturday 21st June. Up until this point it has just been the singers and I in a room with a piano – now the material is venturing out into the world! We are preparing for the Showcase of highlights of Act 1 at the Linbury Theatre, Royal Opera House, Covent Garden on Monday July 14th. We will post regular updates during the coming weeks to enable you to follow the rehearsal process.
In order to enable us to realise Ravi Shankar’s vision as fully as possible, we also launched a Kickstarter Campaign on Sunday, it has got off to an amazing start – and has just been designated a “staff pick” by the Kickstarter team. We will keep you posted with progress here too. Here is the link:
